Caspaco


Caspaco (54˚11'00" 130˚11'00" N side of Inverness Passage, just NW of mouth of the Skeena R and just SE of Prince Rupert). The name is an abbreviation and acronym for the Cassiar Packing Co, which built a cannery at this location in 1903. John Macmillan gained control of the company in 1910, and his son, Ewen Macmillan, grandson of pioneer cannery owner Alexander Ewen (see Ewen Slough), managed the plant for many years.
