Charlie Islands

Charlie Islands (50˚44'00" 127˚23'00" N side of Beaver Hbr, just E of Port Hardy, NE side of Vancouver I). These islands were originally named The Two Charlies in 1851 by Lt George Mansell of HMS Daphne. Charley Beardmore and Charley Blenkinsop were the young sons of HBC officers stationed at Ft Rupert in the 1850s (see Blenkinsop Bay for more on George Blenkinsop). Capt George Richards amended the name to its present form on his 1860 plan of Beaver Hbr.
