Dowager Island

Dowager Island (52˚25'25" 128˚22'13" Between Finlayson Channel and Mathieson Channel, W side of Don Peninsula, NW of Bella Bella). After Lady Amelia Douglas (née Connolly), who long outlived her husband, Sir James Douglas, who was knighted in 1864, the year he retired as gov of Vancouver I and BC. A number of features in this vicinity were named for members of the Douglas family. See Douglas I.
