Errigal Point


Errigal Point (52˚40'00" 128˚34'00" Between Alexander Inlet and Meyers Passage, SE end of Princess Royal I). Named for part of one of the titles bestowed on Harold R L G Alexander, 1st Earl of Tunis and Canada’s 17th gov gen (1946–52). Before he was created an earl (in 1952), his official title was 1st Viscount Alexander of Tunis, of Errigal, County Donegal. Errigal, at 751 m, is the highest peak in Donegal, Ireland, part of the Derryveagh Mtns. See Alexander Inlet.
