Gilford Point

Gilford Point (50˚39'00" 126˚26'00" S side of Gilford I, E end of Queen Charlotte Str). After Lady Elizabeth Henrietta Kennedy (d 1925), the eldest daughter of Arthur Kennedy, gov of Vancouver I, 1864–66. In 1867 she married the gallant Richard Meade, Viscount Gilford (see Gilford Bay), whom she met while he was based at Esquimalt in 1862–64 as cdr of HMS Tribune.
