ALLISON, A.P., logger (b 1883, London, England; d 1947, Vancouver). He came to Canada as a child in 1892 and took his first job at the VICTORIA LUMBER & MANUFACTURING CO sawmill at CHEMAINUS in 1900. Five years later he started his own LOGGING company in Chatham Channel, before opening a large RWY LOGGING camp and shingle mill at GREENE POINT RAPIDS in 1908, which sent the first cargo of BC shingles through the Panama Canal.
