Arrow Lakes


ARROW LAKES, 499 sq km, are part of the COLUMBIA R system in southeast BC. They form an elongated reservoir stretching 232 km from REVELSTOKE to CASTLEGAR. Originally 2 LAKES connected by a river, they merged in 1969 when the KEENLEYSIDE DAM near Castlegar backed up water to its present levels, drowning several small lakeside communities.
