ARROWHEAD & KOOTENAY RAILWAY was a small CPR branch line serving the SILVER mining district of the LARDEAU. The line, connecting GERRARD on Trout Lk with steamships at Lardeau on KOOTENAY LK, opened in June 1902 and briefly stimulated an economic boom in the area. But it was never completed through to Upper ARROW LK and the boom collapsed before WWI. The tracks were pulled up in 1942.
