Boyd, Denny

BOYD, Denny, journalist (b 18 June 1930, Anyox; d 27 Oct 2006, Vancouver). After leaving the northern MINING community of ANYOX, he grew up in VANCOUVER and VICTORIA and began his career in NEWSPAPERS as a teenager, contributing freelance sports stories to the Victoria Colonist. In 1951 he joined the staff of the Victoria Times as a sports reporter during the heyday of the paper when Stu KEATE was publisher and Bruce HUTCHISON editor.
