Brighouse, Samuel

BRIGHOUSE, Samuel, pioneer settler (b 13 Jan 1836, Lindley, England; d there 31 July 1913). He arrived in NEW WESTMINSTER in 1862 with his cousin John MORTON and their friend William Hailstone, the so-called THREE GREENHORNS. They took up land in what became VANCOUVER's West End, built the first cabin there and tried their hand at raising cows and making bricks.
