BURKEVILLE is a residential community next to VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT on SEA ISLAND in RICHMOND. It emerged during WWII when the federal government built 328 houses for workers at the nearby Boeing plant, and it was named for Stanley Burke, president of Boeing. After the war, houses were sold to veterans. The community survives, though it is surrounded by airport development.
