COLUMBIA COAST MISSION was established in 1904 by the ANGLICAN CHURCH to provide seagoing medical care and assistance to isolated camps and settlements on the BC coast north of VANCOUVER as far as KINGCOME INLET. The mission was the brainchild of John ANTLE, who served as superintendent from 1904 to 1936. Other superintendents were Alan GREENE (1936–59), Patrick Ellis (1960–65), and John Forth (1965–70).
