DEBECK family, originally from France, migrated to the US and then to New Brunswick as United Empire Loyalists. In 1867 George DeBeck, along with 4 sons, 3 daughters and their husbands, moved to BC and homesteaded on LULU and SEABIRD islands at the mouth of the FRASER R. When farm income proved inadequate, George and his sons Ward, Warren and Clarence all went HANDLOGGING in BURRARD INLET for the MOODYVILLE SAWMILL CO.
