Forbidden Plateau

FORBIDDEN PLATEAU is a year-round recreation area on the lower slopes of Mt Becher in STRATHCONA PROVINCIAL PARK on central VANCOUVER ISLAND. According to aboriginal legend, the COMOX people sent their women and children there to be safe during an attack by their enemies, the COWICHAN people.
