Groundfish


GROUNDFISH is a fisheries term used to refer to a variety of fish that are usually caught at or near the ocean floor. There are more than 50 species, including ROCKFISH, FLATFISH (SOLE, HALIBUT, FLOUNDER) and an assortment of other species: COD, DOGFISH, HAKE, LINGCOD, pollock, SABLEFISH (blackcod), skate and others.
