HENDRYX BROS was a syndicate of American capitalists formed by a successful CT brass manufacturer, Andrew Hendryx, and his brother Wilbur to mine and process the large low-grade galena (lead ore) deposits on the site of present day RIONDEL. The Bluebell mine was worked by the brothers from 1885 to 1896 and stockpiled ore was barged 11 km south to the Hendryx SMELTER, blown in at PILOT BAY in 1895.
