Ladner


LADNER is the business and administrative centre of the district municipality of DELTA. Originally Ladners Landing, it is located on the south shore of the FRASER R opposite LULU ISLAND. It is named for William and Thomas LADNER, pioneer settlers who arrived in 1868. Ladner developed both as a farming (see AGRICULTURE) community and a commercial FISHING port. Friendly rivalry has always prevailed between residents of STEVESTON and Ladner, who were referred to by their FRASER VALLEY neighbours...
