MAGNUSSEN, Karen Diane, figure skater (b 4 Apr 1952, N Vancouver). Raised in N VANCOUVER, she began winning FIGURE SKATING competitions when she was 7 years old. A dramatic free-style skater, she won her first Canadian women's championship in 1968. After recovering from leg injuries, she regained the national championship in 1970 and held the crown through 1973.
