MARYSVILLE was a MINING community on the ST MARY R 6 km south of KIMBERLEY. It was the site of a SMELTER from 1903 to 1908, then developed as a bedroom community for the nearby SULLIVAN MINE after it was taken over by COMINCO. Since 1968 the community has been part of Kimberley.
