PACIFICA PAPERS INC was a paper manufacturing company created in 1998 when the FOREST INDUSTRY giant MacMILLAN BLOEDEL spun off its paper operations into a separate operation. Pacifica owned the paper mill complexes formerly owned by MacBlo at POWELL RIVER and PORT ALBERNI. In 2001, Norske Skog Canada Ltd. purchased Pacifica, which it later renamed the Catalyst Paper Corp.
