PRICE, Thomas "Tom," Haida chief (b circa 1860, Ninstints, Queen Charlotte Islands; d 1927). He was Chief Ninstints, the last of a line of HAIDA leaders from the village of NINSTINTS on Anthony Island in the QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS (Haida Gwaii). He moved to SKIDEGATE in 1875 after SMALLPOX ravaged his own village, and he became an accomplished carver in ARGILLITE and later in SILVER and wood.
