Princess Royal Island


PRINCESS ROYAL ISLAND, 2,274 sq km, on the coast north of BELLA BELLA at CaamaƱo Sound, is the fourth-largest coastal island after VANCOUVER ISLAND and the 2 main QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS. It is separated from the mainland by Princess Royal Channel, a narrow passage surveyed by George VANCOUVER in 1793 and later used by ferries and CRUISE SHIPS on their routes through the INSIDE PASSAGE.
