REIFEL, GEORGE C., MIGRATORY BIRD SANCTUARY comprises about 3.45 sq km of foreshore at the north end of WESTHAM ISLAND in the mouth of the south arm of the FRASER R. Land for the refuge was leased from a local farmer, George H. Reifel, who donated it to the Crown in 1973. The refuge is named for his father, George C.
