SCHNARR, Johnny, logger, fisher, rum-runner (b 16 Nov 1894, near Centralia, Washington; d date unavailable). Raised in poverty on a Washington state homestead, he came to BC when he was 15 years old, with his brothers Gus and August SCHNARR, to work in a LOGGING camp on CRACROFT ISLAND. He remained on the coast trapping and logging until WWI, when he served overseas with the US army.
