SCOTCH CREEK, pop 527, is an AGRICULTURAL and resort village 26 km north of SALMON ARM on the north shore of SHUSWAP LK. It is the commercial centre for north Shuswap communities along the SQUILAX–ANGLEMONT Road with many TOURISM services but still enough old barns for rural appeal. It was named for Scottish prospectors who panned GOLD here in the 1860s.
