Shawnigan Lake


SHAWNIGAN LAKE, 5.37 sq km, is on the east side of VANCOUVER ISLAND between VICTORIA and DUNCAN. It is a popular summer recreation spot and home to a growing number of permanent residents (4,608 in 2001), many of whom commute down the Island Hwy to Victoria. A small village at the northeast corner is a service centre for the homes and cottages that completely surround the lake.
