SOMMERS AFFAIR was a 1955 scandal involving the SOCIAL CREDIT government and its minister of lands and forests, Robert Sommers. Sommers, who had been a school principal in CASTLEGAR before entering politics, was accused by the opposition LIBERALS of improprieties in the granting of a Forest Management Licence to BC FOREST PRODUCTS LTD (BCFP).
