TURNER LAKES, sometimes known as Hunlen Lakes, are a chain of small lakes surrounded by mountains in southern TWEEDSMUIR PROVINCIAL PARK. Linked by Hunlen Creek, the chain includes Turner, Junker, Widgeon, Kidney, Cutthroat and Vista lakes. They drain via the creek over Hunlen Falls (253 m), the third-highest WATERFALL in Canada, into the ATNARKO R, a BC HERITAGE RIVER. They are known for wilderness canoeing and sport FISHING, much of it based at Tweedsmuir Wilderness Camp on Turner Lk.
