YORK, Annie, Nlaka'pamux elder (b 21 Sept 1904, Spuzzum; d 19 Aug 1991, Spuzzum). Her grandfather was the French packer Cataline CAUX. As a young woman York worked as a domestic, trained as a practical nurse and lived at various places in the FRASER VALLEY and the Interior, but in 1932 she returned to SPUZZUM and lived there for the rest of her life.
