Beaver Cove


BEAVER COVE is on the east coast of VANCOUVER ISLAND, at the top of JOHNSTONE STRAIT just south of PORT McNEILL at the mouth of the Kokish R. It has been a LOGGING centre since 1917, when the Nimpkish Timber Co began operations. The community that developed was called ENGLEWOOD. The cove eventually became a saltwater dump for a huge RAILWAY LOGGING operation in the Nimpkish Valley, owned by CANADIAN FOREST PRODUCTS LTD.
