CAMERON LAKE, a recreational community at the east end of 12-km-long Cameron Lk, 50 km west of NANAIMO on the way to PORT ALBERNI, was also a station on the ESQUIMALT & NANAIMO RWY. The lake, which is popular with sailboarders, was named for Hon David Cameron, chief justice of VANCOUVER ISLAND from 1853 to 1863. Most of the lakeshore is part of Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park.
