CENTRAL BC AIRWAYS was founded in 1945 by Russell BAKER, a bush pilot with Canadian Pacific Air Lines, and his partner Walter GILBERT. The new airline, based at PRINCE GEORGE and FORT ST JAMES, initially carried out surveys for the BC FOREST SERVICE, carried mail and supplied remote camps in the BC Interior.
