DELLA FALLS, 440 m, the highest WATERFALL in Canada and the tenth-highest in the world, tumbles in 3 cascades into the valley of Drinkwater Crk in STRATHCONA PROVINCIAL PARK on central VANCOUVER ISLAND. The base of the falls can be reached by a hiking trail 16 km from the head of GREAT CENTRAL LK north of PORT ALBERNI. The falls are named for the wife of Joe Drinkwater, a trapper who came upon them in 1899.
