Islands Trust

ISLANDS TRUST provides local government for the islands in southern GEORGIA STRAIT and HOWE SOUND. It was established by the province in 1974 as a planning agency to regulate development in the area, which was experiencing rapid population growth and its attendant economic and environmental pressures.
