RENATA, on the southwest shore of Lower ARROW LK, was one of the small lakeside hamlets flooded out in 1969 by the construction of the KEENLEYSIDE DAM near CASTLEGAR. In 1907 the site was developed for fruit growing by a Winnipeg land company and renamed from Dog Creek to Renata ("reborn"). The community was a mix of many nationalities.
