Rogers, Jeremiah


ROGERS, Jeremiah, logger (b 1818, St Andrews, NB; d 24 Oct 1879, English Bay). An established logger in his native New Brunswick, he moved to Puget Sound in the 1850s and came to BC in 1860 to produce logs for the ANDERSON sawmill at PORT ALBERNI. After the Alberni mill closed in 1864, he moved to PORT NEVILLE, then to ENGLISH BAY in VANCOUVER, where he began LOGGING from a camp at JERICHO BEACH in 1865.
