TAKLA LAKE lies northeast of BABINE LK in north-central BC. It empties to the southeast via the MIDDLE R into Trembleur Lk and eventually into the FRASER R (see also BC HERITAGE RIVERS). It is part of the traditional territory of the DAKELH First Nation, who have a settlement, pop 250, at Takla Post (Takla Landing) on its northeast shore.
