Tantalus Range

TANTALUS RANGE  () is a dramatic series of serrate snow-capped peaks at the head of HOWE SOUND along the west side of the SQUAMISH R. Peaks include Ossa (2,260 m), Serratus (2,326 m), Dione (2,590 m) and the highest, Mt Tantalus itself (2,603). Basil Darling, Allan Morkill and Stanley Davies made the first ascent of Tantalus in 1911, and the other summits were climbed by the end of WWI (see also MOUNTAINEERING).
