Tomlinson, Robert


TOMLINSON, Robert, Anglican missionary (b 1842, Ireland; d 1913, Cedarvale). He joined the Church Missionary Society in Ireland (see ANGLICAN CHURCH) after medical training at Trinity College and arrived at METLAKATLA in 1867. He served on the NASS R for 11 years; there, with Robert Doolan, he established the mission at KINCOLITH. He moved to Ankitlast on the upper SKEENA R near KISPIOX. In 1883 he moved again, this time to Metlakatla, where William DUNCAN had established his model village....
