Owl Creek


OWL CREEK, 30 km northeast of WHISTLER on the BC RAIL line, grew up around a federal government FISH HATCHERY, established in 1905, and a SAWMILL. In 1917 Sam Spetch opened a store and post office. Spetch had settled in 1908 near BIRKEN to the north, on the Summit Ranch, where his post office was called Pemberton Portage after the early TRAIL from PEMBERTON to ANDERSON LK.
