PACIFIC RIM NATIONAL PARK RESERVE, 513 sq km, is a narrow strip of beach, foreshore and islands on the west coast of VANCOUVER ISLAND extending 105 km from south of TOFINO in the north to PORT RENFREW in the south. It has 3 distinct units: LONG BEACH (81 sq km), the BROKEN GROUP ISLANDS in BARKLEY SOUND and the WEST COAST TRAIL. The borders of the park extend offshore to protect the contiguous ocean environment. Long Beach is the most accessible section, 175 km by Hwy 4 (see ROADS AND HWYS)...
