The Olympics are bringing a lot of reporters to Vancouver and most of them are interested in the Downtown Eastside where the city has even set up an information booth to provide information (spin?) about the neighbourhood to visitors.

There will be a lot of sensational, cheap-shot stuff published, but a really fine article has been appearing this week at the website of the on-line magazine Slate.

The piece takes an in-depth look at Insite and the harm reduction policies the city is experimenting with in the face of federal government opposition. Check it out.
