More About Whales

I've been reading Philip Hoare's excellent book about whales and whaling, Leviathan or, The Whale, which has nothing to do with BC but reminds me of a new website (at least new to me) that will interest anyone who cares about our local cetaceans.

Whales and Dolphins of BC (here) is the work of Susan Mackay. I met Susan when I was up in Powell River last year talking about my book on killer whales. She spends a lot of her time out on the water in her boat observing and photographing coastal cetaceans. The website contains a lot of her photos, as well as information about the different species of whales and dolphins that frequent our coast. Highly recommended.
