It's Freedom to Read Week and our friend Brian Busby has chosen to commemorate the event with a delightful post on his books blog, The Dusty Bookcase.
Brian has dug up an old article from the archives of The Vancouver Sun dating back to 1954 when a group of Vancouver's respectable citizens tried to stage a book burning. Or, to be more accurate, a comic book burning.
To its credit, the Sun denounced the plan as "Hitlerism", but the "comic clean up campaign" continued anyway.
Read about it at Brian's blog, here.
