Charles Chapman was an early member of the BC Mountaineering Club. A printer by trade, he was an avid climber who took many photographs of his excursions into the coastal mountains. Some of these photographs, including the one above of the man himself, taken in 1909, are part of a new virtual exhibition now online at the North Vancouver Museum's website.
The exhibition, titled Mountain Light: Photos from the BC Mountaineering Club Collection, features images by seven of the Club's outstanding photographers, dating all the way back to pre-World War One period. You can visit the site here.
