New Music from Patrick Brealey

My nephew Patrick Brealey has released his second CD, Mercury in Songbirds. Patrick grew up in North Vancouver and now lives and writes his music in Toronto. He returned to Vancouver this summer for a CD release party at St. James Hall. It was the middle of the heat wave but it was a sell-out crowd spanning a couple of generations at least and Patrick and his band were in top form. I would describe his music as country/folk with a hint of cabaret thrown in but I'm an old fogey and I'm not even sure those are even categories anymore. What's important is, it sounds great.
